My artworks explore organic patterns created through the movement of water and the landscape forms weathered by the elements. My process is experimental using layers of texture, colour and sometimes gold leaf or glass beads to create intricate surfaces. that invite the viewer to touch. The works both reveal and expose elements of the natural world.
I have been painting since 2003 with my time in the studio increasing every year, now daily. During the 70’s and 80’s my creative life was expressed in pottery and leather work.
My years as a potter has influenced the tactile finish on current paintings, I enjoy the tactile effect they have for the viewers desire to touch the work and provoking curiosity as to how the surface effect has been achieved.
A creative life is an exciting journey continuing through an artists lifetime. It is a life of exploration and usually experimenting with an ever increasing range of materials.
